MORA #4 Christmas Bulbs

Even with an after-Christmas price reduction, I did not purchase these lovely bulbs. Plus they wouldn't be part of my planned Christmas 2013 tree. (See yesterday's post)

  1. they look very fragile. I like trees that have a theme throughout

  4. Your mention of after-Christmas price reductions brings to mind that the Orthodox church observes Christmas in early January, based on the Gregorian calendar rather than the Julian calendar, or something like that. I have never looked up why there is a difference.

The difference caused the Soviets to celebrate the "Great October Revolution" that brought them to power in November each year.

  5. Your comment made me look up the date of the Orthodox Christmas, 2013. Here it is!

  6. Oops! I forgot to post the information: Many Orthodox Christians in the United States celebrate Christmas Day on or near January 7 in the Gregorian calendar. This date works to be December 25 in the Julian calendar, which pre-dates the Gregorian calendar. It is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who is believed to be the son of God.

  8. These ornaments are beautify decorated. I do like the tree from yesterdays post though.

The little plaque on the Howl At The Moon sculpture that I posted yesterday didn't have an artists name. It had the name of the piece and name of a person that it was put there in honor of.

  9. Is that price tag of 69.95 in the first photo for that particular ornament? If so, I would have passed too, but not because it didn't fit a theme. If I were to buy that ball, it would be the only decoration on my tree. Oh, dear, where would I put it!

  10. Those are very unique!

  11. Are those numbers, 69.95, referring to a price? If so, I can see why you opted to just look. They're lovely but not that lovely.

  12. Pricey. They wouldn't go with my tree either.
