  1. Oh my, now I'm envious. I don't think we've had a Russian art exhibit here yet. Would love to join you.

  2. I am looking forward to this. I did not know that you have a Russian Art Museum in the Twin Cities. I took Russian as my language in school and went there in the summer of 1968.

    1. Dave, you would LOVE this museum! Unfortunately I was not able to take photos inside, only the gift shop but there will be photos of that to follow. The Fechin exhibit was EXTRAORDINARY!! I first was introduced to him years ago at his adobe home-turned museum in Taos. What a gift that man had!!

  3. Love that your photo contains a poster of one of Nicolai Fechin's paintings. He is one of my favorite artists.

    1. Kathy, Then you would have absolutely loved this exhibit...a very large selection of his paintings. We spent several hours there. It's leaving for Seattle tomorrow or I would go back again.

I have about 400km from my home to the state Hermitage Museum in Petersburg :) I have visited there twice but I could spend time there weeks! The train is going from Finland to Petersburg and also to Moscow but I have never traveled using those trains.
You could do virtual visits that museum here as you perhaps already know.
    Nice Sunday to you Kate!

  9. Wow Kate, I did not know about this place. On all those business trips to Minneapolis when I worked for Wells Fargo, I would have made my way there if I had known. Many years ago, one of our museums had a show of Russian paintings and it was one of the most memorable shows I ever attended. I have got to figure out a trip to St. Petersburg and Moscow one of these days.

  11. A whole museum in Minnesota devoted to Russian art? Who would have known! This is my kind of place, except for the photography prohibition.
