Visual Delight-ABC WEDNESDAY "V"

Sunday Morning Snow
Soft and Silently Falling
A Pleasant Surprise

And, it was a  BIG one.  I loved the silence as I walked out into the falling flakes early in the morning.  It snowed all day, and parts of our metropolitan area got 16-19 inches of snow. I think our neighborhood got about ten inches.

Our snowplow service did not arrive until after midnight, but then the city plows came through this morning, and the end of the driveway is again impassable!

  1. All my blogger friends from Minnesota are posting the most gorgeous snow pictures! All we have here are trees with brown leaves, trees with no leaves and a week full of gray skies! Thanks for bringing some beauty to my day.

  8. Sorry you have to get around in that stuff, we had a flurry of snow yesterday, if you consider one flake a flurry. The weather man was making fun over everyone calling it snowmageddon.

  9. Nothing like this here yet... but it's coming. Winter Wonderland.

  10. It's beautiful. We're still brown here. That mountain the road plow leaves at the end of the driveway is always ice and compression and nearly impossible to move.

  12. I was hoping you'd have some photos of the snow when I heard about it on the radio yesterday. You must have had quite a storm.

  18. When I checked our local weather Sunday morning, they were showing the Twin Cities area as expecting 5-8 inches, so I was surprised on monday to hear you had received double that. Only 3.5" here (finally!), but I did get out for a few pics and to help a friend shovel.

  19. Beautiful - to look at but not to shovel!

  20. This gives new meaning to the word, "snowbound"! It certainly is a beautiful sight; especially if you don't have to get out and drive in it. Of course, if your driveway is blocked, you have to stay home and relax by the fire and drink hot toddies!

  21. Beautiful photos of the snow.
I have to admit that it is pretty to look at but I really don't want to live in it day after day and to have to shovel it.
    Take care and stay warm.

  24. Beautiful - visually - but I prefer the cosiness of inside on days like this. Of course, our precipitation currently is VERY wet puddling in any hole available. ICK! Not as visually beautiful as yours!

  30. I especially like the first shot. So pretty! The snow level here is steadily moving downward. We're just above sea level. I'm hoping it doesn't get here for some time. People around here aren't accustomed to driving in snow and ice.
