Empty-July 2009 Theme Day

"No one ever died from sleeping in an unmade bed. I have known mothers who remake the bed after their children do it because there is wrinkle in the spread or the blanket is on crooked. This is sick.” Erma Bombeck quotes (U.S. humorist, 1927-1996)

A bed empty of a sleeping body. Wonder who just left it? Our grandson is staying with us for four weeks while he is attending summer school in our neighborhood. You never would have guessed that this is how a 15-year-old boy would leave the room when he left for the day. Right?

Ah, this is SO good Kate. An unmade bed and a 15 year old boy! Good choice indeed.

For a 15 yo this is pretty tidt. I imagine/remember it all to be on the floor.

I love this choice for the theme ...

Can't wait to see his closet.

I know the look of this bed. Our son (and sister before him) could leave a bed and entire room unmade for days...probably weeks. Good post. Thanks.

Great choice! Looks pretty tidy for a teen . . . of course all his "stuff" isn't there . . . aren't you glad about that . . .

Our old Army beds had to be made each morning and stretched so tight that a quarter would bounce up if dropped. I have seen them stretched so tight that the ends curled up.

Making a bed...my favorite writer...Erma.

Hee! I don't believe in making the bed unless someone's going to see it! So I guess I have the mentality of a 15-year-old boy.

Happy theme day!!

Ahem, do I have to admit that I sometimes do the same?

Hehehe. I'd leave it that way, if I were you. He doesn't make his bed, he sleeps in wrinkled, mooshy sheets. Though I don't think 15-year-olds mind. I know I didn't when I was much younger! :)

Fun and funny choice for theme day, Kate!

I share completely what said above by Halcyon. Great idea for this Theme Day.

looks like the bed of a boy who knows how to rest and has his priorities straight!

Empty bed is a good choice for theme day. I wish my bed wasn't empty and I was in it taking a nap right now:)

It makes me fell sleepy! I'm a long way from 15 but thats how I leave my bed! Don't tell my mum or she might want to come and live with me! Lol!

Great theme day post :)

Wow, for a 15 year old, this is AMAZING! The resident 15 year old at my house should be so - errr - tidy!

love your view of 'empty' Kate.
sorry, haven't been able to visit your blog lately, work is overwhelming, very little time for pleasure.
my regards to you!

Ah to be 15 again and not feel I have to make the bed. It does make it more comfortable to get in when its smoothed out though. Fun post.
