This sculpture by a faulty member in the art department is a tribute to one of the students who died tragically in an automobile accident several years ago. He had been a "lifer"--someone who had started his academic career in the school many years before as a kindergartener, and he was a boy who was known and enjoyed by all of his classmates. I had known him since he had been a small boy, and because he also was the son of one of my colleagues, his death was particularly poignant.
Its a beautiful memorial.
ReplyDeleteA lovely tribute to a young man. How very sad for all who knew him.
ReplyDeletetriste, mais cette sculpture est un très bel mémorial.

Nice sculpture for this memorial...
ReplyDeleteThis is nice. A beautiful tribute to a young man no longer with us.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a memorial sculpture quite like this one. Very nice. Glad he will be remembered in some way.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being one of my first "folowers", Kate! I thought it was working only for US blogs but now, it seems to be possible in France too! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? The kind of story that you hate to learn, but...
ReplyDeleteA very sad event but a lovely tribute.....
