Even I never use a hat, I understand, that someone enjoys doing them, they are like art pieces made by an artist`s hands. And fortunately many enjoy also about wearing them :)
    Have a happy weekend Kate!

  4. I'm not really a hat person. My parents bought me knit hats as a kid and I resisted vehemently.

Hats. Women in hats. Ladies in bonnets. My mom wore a bonnet all of her life. I remember the neighbor lady, Esta Flory, always wore a bonnet, except to bed and she had something she wore on her head to bed that tied under her chin. Mom and most ladies made their bonnets out of flour sack material put out by Gold Medal Flour especially during the war. Those bonnets and aprons were proper and fitting and women of all stripes wore both every day of their lives. I was much too young to visit a prostitute in those days but I have heard they wore bonnets to bed.

  6. I like hats on women. Are they making a fashion comeback?

  7. I love your hat photos - and this one especially. Love velvet hats.

Yes, I did know ambiance could be spelled ambience - have left more on Menton DP - following your message, Kate. The French spell it ambiance and translate it as atmosphere.

  10. Looks like a very eclectic craft fair, with a nice assortment of goods. Nice that you make the trek!

  11. "Chapeau" pour ce blog !
The expression is a little bit out of date, in fact it was an abbreviation of "hat off" (chapeau bas) in sign of respect.
