My mother grew up in this house. I too spent many hours there with my grandparents and have very fond memories of it and the neighborhood. We now live in other states. My mother knew about the house being moved since she saw a photo of it on a Macalester College alumni magazine. Your picture is wonderful.

There have been quite a few houses in my town of Wooster, Ohio that were moved. Several were for Habitat for Humanity. One was a beautiful old Victorian that was saved from demolition.

Thanks for the photo!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28981938.post-44279321430910269942007-05-14T18:20:00.000-05:002007-05-14T18:20:00.000-05:00Nice Recycling!Nice Recycling!Squirrelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16459620834878853588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28981938.post-14382602685513244292007-05-14T18:15:00.000-05:002007-05-14T18:15:00.000-05:00Great pic and link to another great pic--I love it...Great pic and link to another great pic--I love it when they move houses! I sat transfixed watching a show a few years ago about how the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras, N.C. was moved farther away from the shore. Amazing.

I have a friend who was given a house, but when he looked into having it moved, the local government (or whoever) was going to charge $1500 per set of cables and traffic lights that they had to move temporarily to get the house through the streets. To move the house where he wanted to move it was going to cost him $60,000. He declined the free house and it was demolished.JAMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04272374108524693575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28981938.post-6254832434735200532007-05-13T02:24:00.000-05:002007-05-13T02:24:00.000-05:00I've never seen such a thing! You never know she could be in your road or mine by now. We can all look! Thanks. There is now a POSSIBLE, i stress possible, American connection.Cheltenhamdailyphotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00518073757785956012noreply@blogger.com
